Events in the New Forest

Whilst the New Forest is blessed with stunning scenery and a vast variety of places to eat and drink, the forest also hosts some fantastic events throughout the year. Whether a country show, food festival, family day out, or live music you will be spoilt for choice!

Major events in the New Forest

Burley Food & Drink Festival Fri 27th-29th May

Returning for it’s second year, Burley food and drink festival is back. Surrounded by beautiful woodland the festival celebrates artisan local producers, artists, and local musicians. www.burleyfestival.com

Dogstival 4th and 5th June

For dogs, dog lovers and dog owners then Dogstival is for you! A fantastic family-friendly festival and the ultimate day out for you and your dog. Expect a right royal knee’s up this year as it’s a Platinum Jubilee special where you can take a trip to Barkingham Palace, get your paws involved with lots of have a go-activities, arena displays, brilliant shopping, local food and drink, live music, talks from the stages and lots more. www.dogstival.co.uk

Lymington Seafood Festival 15th-17th July

This annual 3-day seafood extravaganza is jam packed with delicious seafood stands. Over seventy pop up food traders, shopping, and live music all with glorious Solent views. This year book a table at their pop-up restaurant hosted by MasterChef winner and Hampshire resident Jane Devonshire who will be serving a Fruits de Mer and a four course seafood tasting menu. The New Forest Show 26th-28th July

Probably the biggest event in the New Forest and one of our favourites, is the New Forest & Hampshire County Show. This annual event established in 1920 takes place at New Park in Brockenhurst, the event highlights traditional country pursuits, show jumping, cookery shows and lots of family fun. Come along and investigate some of our local traditions, sample food from the local produce market and shop for antiques, crafts, jewellery, and clothing. The New Forest and Hampshire County Show will be back on 26, 27 and 28 July 2022.

Beaulieu Supercar Weekend 6th-7th August

Beaulieu hosts a vast number of excellent events across the year, including the very popular autojumbles, VW, Porsche and Hot Rod days and the Supercar weekend which is a must-see family spectacular that brings some of the world’s most exclusive and desirable supercars to Beaulieu. Ellingham Show 13th August

Ellingham Show is a traditional country show with something for all the family. This will be their 75th and bouncing back after three years of enforced cancellations they are working hard to make it even more special than usual. Join them at Somerley Park on August 13th. The New Forest Walking and Cycling Festival 15th Oct – 7th Nov

If you are a keen walker then look out for the annual New Forest Walking and Cycling Festival, usually taking place mid-late October for a fortnight. The festival boasts around eighty guided walks and bike rides featuring many different areas of the National Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to see parts of the New Forest that you may not be familiar with and keep fit in the process!
