Everton is a vibrant village with an excellent general store, highly regarded public house and recreation facilities. The highly regarded primary school in Milford on Sea is within a short drive and the village centre of Milford is approximately 2 miles away, with an attractive village green surrounded by a good range of shops and restaurants and safe swimming beaches. The Georgian market town of Lymington is approximately 3 miles to the East with its river, marinas and yacht clubs. The New Forest National Park is a few miles to the North offering extensive walking and riding and picturesque scenery.
The professionally landscaped gardens are the best presented that we have seen in some time. The gravel drive is fronted by high hedging with a garden packed full of raised beds, espalier pear and apple trees, covered fruit cage and even a porthole cut in to the mature hedging. The drive leads to the detached garage with additional storage for boats or motor homes behind the high double gates. The rear has been converted to provide a home office or home business such as beauty or massage room. The rear garden is the jewel in the crown, with a large lawned area surrounded by impressive plantings adding colour and scent throughout the year. Hidden paths lead to tranquil corners with bench seating, over hanging branches, fruit trees, acers, perennials, ferns, grasses, vegetable beds and assorted flowers, bushes, climbers and a greenhouse. The garden out buildings include a covered wood store, large garden shed and a quiet seating area with built in BBQ providing total seclusion.
A large, light hallway with space for boots and umbrellas, ground floor cloakroom and stairs to first floor landing with large understairs cupboard and coat rack. The family living room has a double aspect with doors to the rear garden, a feature Clearview wood burning stove and windows to the front flooding the room with light. The second reception room has multi usage potential, either as a nursery, playroom, occasional bedroom or study. The impressive kitchen/dining room has a range of solid beech wood fitted units with dark worktops and space for washing machine, tumble dryer and ample space for a freestanding fridge and freezer. Double doors to the garden give easy access to the external home office. This spacious room allows for a dining table with additional space for wall cabinets and free standing centre isle.
The stairs rise to a half landing with impressive picture window show casing the landscaped garden as well as the sky light flooding the landing with natural light. All rooms lead off from here. The master bedroom with dual aspect, en-suite bathroom with shower over and wonderful garden views. In addition there are three further double bedrooms all with multi fitted cupboards and garden views. The family bathroom suite with separate shower completes the upstairs accommodation.
Living in Milford on Sea
Milford on Sea is currently a property hot spot. It is one of the last remaining seaside villages in Hampshire and is delightfully picturesque with a proper village green at its centre. This green is often the focus for popular village events such as maypole dancing and the annual food festival and is fringed by a range of independents (including antiques shops, butcher’s, chemists and greengrocer’s). Recently Milford has developed something of a reputation as a foodie destination with its collection of tea rooms, bistros, wine bar, fish and chips and specialist fish restaurant, plus more.
This is a vibrant village with a friendly and lively community, and appeals to both young families (the primary school has been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted) and older couples looking for somewhere on the coast to relax. The old-fashioned seafront stretches from Hurst spit and Keyhaven nature reserve in the east towards Christchurch Harbour to the west, and enjoys lovely views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and the Needles.
A good mix of properties includes striking contemporary seafront homes and cliff top apartments with big sea views, quaint terraced old fishermen’s cottages and some substantial 1920s and 1930s Ravenscroft arts and crafts influenced homes in and around Barnes Lane.
