This small group of six beautifully presented lodges occupy the prime position in the popular Hoburne Naish holiday park. The lodges have outstanding sea views either from a wide and deep decked terrace or a first floor level roof terrace accessed via a spiral staircase. Positioned just yards from the cliff top, the panoramic views stretching from the Isle of Wight in the east to the Purbeck hills in the west. The excellent facilities of the Hoburne Holiday park are also on hand as well as superb local pubs, restaurants and spas. The Cliff House bar and restaurant is a short walk away along the cliff top with the famous Relais & Chateau Chewton Glen Hotel and Spa less than half a mile away. Mudeford (3.8 miles) Christchurch (5.5 miles) and Lymington (8 miles) have excellent sailing facilities including marinas and sailing clubs. Beaches are a short walk away at both Barton on Sea and Highcliffe while the New Forest just to the north offers wide open spaces and endless glorious walks and rides.
The Lodges on offer are beautifully appointed with interiors carefully designed to maximise the available space while not compromising the sense of individuality and quality of finish. The contemporary kitchen is fitted with integral Bosch appliances and incorporate a breakast bar adjacent to the superb dining area with room for a six seater table overlooking the terrace and the sea. There is a generous sitting room with an electric fireplace and impressive twin bi-fold doors that stretch across the south side of the lodge and maximise the sensational views while providing direct access to the decked terrace which is perfect for relaxing or entertaining. There is an entrance hall with space for coats and boots as well as storage cupboards and space for a washing machine.
There are two double bedrooms accessed by a central hall. The master bedroom has bedside tables and built in wardrobes adjacent to an appealing dressing room beyond which lies an en suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom that has a paneled bath with shower over and floor to ceiling tiles.
The lodges that are one row back from the front line have an impressive roof terrace, reached via a spiral staircase, that have outstanding elevated views of the surrounding coastline.
The Lodges are surrounded by the Hoburne Naish holiday park and offer a variety of facilities including a shop, swimming pool, cafe and restaurant. All lodges offer either a large south facing decked terrace with 180 degree views or a first floor level roof terrace. The area immediately to the south of the lodges is laid to lawn and provides a further space in which to relax or join the extensive cliff top walks to nearby beaches. Each lodge has a private parking space.
Living in Barton on Sea
Barton on Sea enjoys a stunning coastal location with views stretching from Hurst Castle to Hengistbury Head. In addition it benefits from all of the facilities of neighbouring New Milton, such as mainline station, arts centre, weekly market and range of shops.
Although Barton on Sea has a history dating back to Anglo Saxon times it developed relatively recently and comprises mostly avenues and closes of mid-century and later detached family homes, plus a row of old coastguard cottages, substantial properties in big plots with even bigger views on Barton Common Road and some imaginative new builds including town houses.
Traditionally it has been a popular area for those considering retiring, but it also offers a great deal for families with parks and excellent state and independent schooling. New Milton Junior School is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, while both New Milton Infant School and The Arnewood School (11-19 Academy), are rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted. And Durlston Court Preparatory is ranked an impressive number 46 in The Times list of the top 100 independent prep schools. Local facilities include clifftop cafes, a deli and Pebble Beach restaurant which is a Good Food Guide stalwart, plus there’s a 27-hole clifftop golf course with impressive views.
