Remembering Justin Hannam

Everyone at Spencers New Forest is saddened to be saying their final farewells to a very dear friend and colleague Justin Hannam who died earlier this month (9^th September 2022) following a sudden, short period of ill health. He leaves his wife Rebecca and their young children Zach and Chloe, and our thoughts are with them at this terribly sad time.

We always say that at Spencers New Forest we consider ourselves a family as much as a company. This is very much a people business, and Justin was one of those people who added so much to the team. He was a consummate professional: friendly, organised and efficient, and always ready with a smile. Justin joined us seven years ago, as an Associate at the Brockenhurst office, after a successful career working in London and Winchester. He wanted to bring his children up in the New Forest, enjoying the outdoors and the activities he loved, including camping, cycling and paddleboarding. We will miss him, and we are sure all of those clients and customers he guided over the years will also be deeply saddened to learn that he has died far too early.

In an interview he gave about the joys of moving to the New Forest coast and working locally for Spencers, he said: “I can sit down at the breakfast table with my children, and get home in time to put them in the bath or tell them a bedtime story…”

Colleague and friend, Melanie Gwilliam, who worked alongside Justin in the Brockenhurst office, added: “As a small team, we work very closely, and Justin was such an integral part of our office. He brought something special to the team dynamic. He was also incredibly witty with a dry sense of humour and a practical joker – often at my expense! It was a privilege to work with him. He will be much missed.”
